Sarahy’s Scoop: NCAA Week 8

Women In Charge!

With Winter Cup taking over the men’s schedule,  leaving them with just one meet,  Week 8 belonged to the women, and they made it count.

5. Maryland’s Madeline Komoroski – Floor

We see big tumbling every single week in NCAA gymnastics — that’s nothing new. But tumbling that looks this easy? That’s rare. Madeline floats through her passes like gravity is optional and then casually controls the landings like it’s no big deal.

4. Stanford’s Anna Roberts – Floor

At this point, covering Anna Roberts feels like cheating — which routine are you even supposed to pick? Three 9.950s and a 9.9 on vault this weekend, but we’re going with floor. The performance quality is undeniable, and you can tell she’s a senior who knows exactly what she brings to the table every time she salutes.

3. Washington’s Chelsea Halinan – Beam

My only question: what did the judges deduct on this one?

2. Georgia’s Autumn Reingold – Bars

I swear Autumn hangs in the air before catching the low bar on her Pak salto. Everything about this routine is extended, precise and floaty in that classic Georgia bars way that just hits different.

1. Arkansas’ Morgan Price – Vault (10.0)

Morgan Price continues to make history. Last year she earned the first 10.0 in HBCU gymnastics history, and now she’s scored the first perfect 10 in Arkansas Razorbacks program history. Yes, we’ve seen a few 10.0s on vault already this season,  but this one was extra special. The moment, the impact, the statement. My jaw is still on the floor.
