NCAA MEN’S GYMNASTICS: Recruiting Roundup!

Now that you’ve met many of the freshmen slated to compete during the 2025-26 Men’s NCAA Gymnastics season (see that series here on InsideGym.com), we’re excited to launch a look at the Class of 2026 – NLI Signings for each program!

In this new Inside Gymnastics series in partnership with the Men’s College Gymnastics Association (CGA), we asked each head coach about who’s graduating, who’s coming up, what they look for in their recruits, where each Class of 2026 NLI signee could potentially contribute to the lineup, and what makes their program unique. You’ll see what they had to say right here on InsideGym.com!

We’ll also add updates here and across our social media platforms as the season progresses, should anything change. Plus! Stay tuned right here for Men’s NCAA Coverage throughout the season, and be on the lookout for our upgraded Routine Of The Week segment and more @InsideGym once the season gets rolling.

Up next, William & Mary! The William & Mary men’s gymnastics team concluded the 2025 season at the NCAA Championships as a school-record five Tribe standouts competed in the event finals. Evan Wilkins highlighted W&M’s performances with one of the Tribe’s four top-20 finishes, as he tied for 19th on floor with a 13.466. Additionally, the Franklin, Tenn., native tied for 27th on parallel bars with a 13.033. Sam Lee also competed in multiple events and placed 20th on parallel bars (13.433) and tied for 22nd on vault (13.966). Luke Tully (13.133) and Connor Barrow (14.0) also finished 20th on high bar and vault, respectively, while Niko Greenly tied for 25th on parallel bars (13.133). In addition to its school-record five qualifiers in the finals, W&M qualified as a team to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2021 and the ninth time in program history.

Three William & Mary men’s gymnastics standouts were selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Preseason Gymnasts to Watch List this season. Senior Ricky Pizem, junior Evan Wilkins and sophomore Luke Tully garnered the distinction. W&M will open its season at the West Point Open on Jan. 16-17 before heading to the Navy Open the following weekend (Jan. 24).

We asked William & Mary Head Coach Mike Powell…

Who will we graduate in 2026:

W&M will graduate 6: Will Harrington, Sam Smith, Trenton Peazant, Evan Sikra, Mark Fu, and Ricky Pizem

Class of 2026 – NLI Signings

We have 6 commitments for W&M next year.  Per NCAA rules, so far I can tell you that Chase Tully and Luca Bardana are joining the team next year.

Chase Tully – Chase will bring a hard-charging energy to the gym each day. While he is a force to be reckoned with on his own, Chase is joining his brother Luke on the team, and when the two of them get together, the energy tends to ramp up exponentially. Chase will be a strong contributor on pommel horse and will make some moves on parallel bars, rings, and high bar, too.

Luca Bardana – As a solid all-arounder, Luca will add depth to our lineups across the board with especially strong contributions on floor, vault, high bar, and parallel bars. Luca is also a great student who will contribute to the team’s academic pursuits and bring tons of positive energy to the gym.

Top traits we look for beyond gymnastics skills:

We look for someone who has the competitive edge to compete under pressure. But beyond the sport, I want student-athletes with the academic chops to succeed at William & Mary, and who will take full advantage of the fantastic educational opportunity. Finally, I’m seeking gymnasts who will be good teammates, both in and out of the gym, because we’re looking to build deep connections that last a lifetime.

What makes William & Mary stand out as a program:

The depth of the experience. We are very intentional about using the Athletic experience to enhance the education and growth of our student-athletes right alongside and with the world-class academic experience that is William & Mary. That means challenge and growth in and out of the gym, forming lifelong connections along the way.
