NCAA MEN’S GYMNASTICS: Recruiting Roundup!

Now that you’ve met many of the freshmen slated to compete during the 2025-26 Men’s NCAA Gymnastics season (see that series here on InsideGym.com), we’re excited to launch a look at the Class of 2026 – NLI Signings for each program!

In this new Inside Gymnastics series in partnership with the Men’s College Gymnastics Association (CGA), we asked each head coach about who’s graduating, who’s coming up, what they look for in their recruits, where each Class of 2026 NLI signee could potentially contribute to the lineup, and what makes their program unique. You’ll see what they had to say right here on InsideGym.com!

We’ll also add updates here and across our social media platforms as the season progresses, should anything change. Plus! Stay tuned right here for Men’s NCAA Coverage throughout the season, and be on the lookout for our upgraded Routine Of The Week segment and more @InsideGym once the season gets rolling.

Up next, Simpson! The Simpson College men’s gymnastics team was represented by six athletes at the 2025 National Collegiate Men’s Gymnastics Championships. Brian Rollison and Jake Smith each earned spots as all-around competitors, while four other Storm gymnasts qualified in individual events. Alex Catchpole returned to the national stage for the third consecutive year and competed on pommel horse and parallel bars. Alex Campbell qualified on still rings, Braxton Jones showcased his talents on vault, and Paul Tiedemann secured a spot on high bar.

Leading the way was Rollison, who made program history by becoming the first Storm gymnast to qualify for the NCAA Finals. Rollison secured his finals berth with a standout 13.533 on rings during the opening round. He followed it up with a 13.066 in the championship round to finish 30th in the nation.

We asked Simpson head coach Colin Payne…

Who will we graduate in 2026:

Our senior class is seven athletes. Six are planning to graduate. Sterling Pariza is currently planning to take a fifth year. Alex Catchpole, Chris Duane, Connor Jenkins, Sterling Pariza (5th year), Ethan Sipos, Milo Staley, Jake Sweeten

Class of 2026 – NLI Signings/ What each athlete will bring to the program:

All of our commits are hard-working athletes and committed students. Each of these guys is going to fit in and add to the culture of excellence in every pursuit that our current athletes have built.
Colin Bouarouy – Colin is a powerhouse floor and vault worker. He will be poised to make an immediate impact on the team for those two events.
Hayden Hannapel – Hayden is another strong floor and vault athlete. He will undoubtedly push our team to up there game.
Ishmael Osorio – Ishmael is a well rounded gymnast. He has a great foundation and the work ethic to develop in to a great Simpson gymnast.
Jackson Sluiter – Jackson has some great stuff on High Bar. He will be well in the mix on Floor and Vault too.
Zach Neighbor – Zach has some great stuff on Floor and Vault. With a solid foundation. I expect him to develop into a solid utility player for our team.
Tyler Shub – Tyler has some great strength on Rings. I expect him to develop well into a player in this lineup.
We are also still considering a couple more athletes as we expand our team with our new facility.

Top traits we look for beyond gymnastics skills:

Beyond gymnastics, we look for driven student athletes who are focused on growing and developing in and out of the gym. We target student athletes who will enhance the team first culture we have built. The young men joining our team are athletes that interested in being a part of something bigger than themselves and leaving a legacy for those that come after.

What makes Simpson stand out as a program:

The thing that separates Simpson is growth. The athletes who have joined this team have bought into the mission of growing a program. From the individual gymnastics to the team culture to the classroom, each of our athletes is dedicated to growing and developing their potential. Anyone who has followed our previous three seasons will see immense growth as a program and from individual athletes. Simpson, as an institution, is also investing in gymnastics. We have just completed a brand new 10,00sq.ft. practice and competition facility. We have also added full-time assistant coach, Christian Lunsford, for the upcoming season. From top to bottom, this program is growing and gaining steam.
