NCAA MEN’S GYMNASTICS: Recruiting Roundup!

Now that you’ve met many of the freshmen slated to compete during the 2025-26 Men’s NCAA Gymnastics season (see that series here on InsideGym.com), we’re excited to launch a look at the Class of 2026 – NLI Signings for each program!

In this new Inside Gymnastics series in partnership with the Men’s College Gymnastics Association (CGA), we asked each head coach about who’s graduating, who’s coming up, what they look for in their recruits, where each Class of 2026 NLI signee could potentially contribute to the lineup, and what makes their program unique. You’ll see what they had to say right here on InsideGym.com!

We’ll also add updates here and across our social media platforms as the season progresses, should anything change. Plus! Stay tuned right here for Men’s NCAA Coverage throughout the season, and be on the lookout for our upgraded Routine Of The Week segment and more @InsideGym once the season gets rolling.

First up in the Recruiting Series, the 12-time NCAA National Champion Oklahoma Sooners! Oklahoma has won 12 National Championships in program history, tied for the most nationally. Since 2000, the Sooners have claimed nine NCAA team titles, 19 conference championships, 278 All-Americans and 41 individual national titles.  They finished 3rd in 2025.

We asked Oklahoma head coach Mark Willliams…

Who will we graduate in 2026:

My seniors are Fuzzy Benas, Brigham Frentheway, Kelton Christiansen, Mac Seyler, and Leo Koike. The last two have an option to return for a 5th year but won’t know that until the end of the year.

Class of 2026 – NLI Signings:

Dante Reive, Hunter Simpson, and Jesse Hanny

What each athlete will bring to the program:

Dante Reive is very strong on the rings, Jr. World Champ, and super powerful on floor and vault. He’s a strong All-Around gymnast, except for pommels.

Hunter Simpson is fairly balanced as an All-Around gymnast. Good competitor and solid on most events.

Jesse Hanny is also pretty good as an All-Around gymnast. Getting stronger on rings and does some quality work on parallel bars and high bar.

Top traits we look for beyond gymnastics skills:

Academic performance, communication skills, discipline and ability to work hard.

What makes Oklahoma stand out as a program:

We are tied with the greatest number of national championships of any program; we have the most top 3 National finishes in the NCAA, and we have athletes who regularly compete at World Championships and Olympic Games.
