01 Jan CGA X Inside Gymnastics Men’s NCAA Class Of 2026 Recruiting Roundup! Next Up, Nebraska!
NCAA MEN’S GYMNASTICS: Recruiting Roundup!
Now that you’ve met many of the freshmen slated to compete during the 2025-26 Men’s NCAA Gymnastics season (see that series here on InsideGym.com), we’re excited to launch a look at the Class of 2026 – NLI Signings for each program!
In this new Inside Gymnastics series in partnership with the Men’s College Gymnastics Association (CGA), we asked each head coach about who’s graduating, who’s coming up, what they look for in their recruits, where each Class of 2026 NLI signee could potentially contribute to the lineup, and what makes their program unique. You’ll see what they had to say right here on InsideGym.com!
We’ll also add updates here and across our social media platforms as the season progresses, should anything change. Plus! Stay tuned right here for Men’s NCAA Coverage throughout the season, and be on the lookout for our upgraded Routine Of The Week segment and more @InsideGym once the season gets rolling.
Up next, Nebraska! The Huskers won the fourth place spot at the 2025 NCAA National Championships with a total score of 326.222. It was head coach Chuck Chmelka’s 10th consecutive top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships. Chase Mondi won a silver medal on the floor with a 14.566. Chris Hiser was the fourth-place finisher on rings with a 14.133 to close out his career as a Husker. Taylor Christopulos (pommel horse, all-around), Asher Cohen (rings), Mondi (floor) and Max Odden (high bar) all received All-America honors after receiving eighth place or higher on their respective event.
Taylor Christopulos was named the recipient of the Nissen-Emery Award, Nebraska’s fourth all-time and first in 37 years as Tom Schlesinger won the award for NU in 1988 under head coach Francis Allen.
“This isn’t just my award; it’s for the team, for my family, and everyone who’s helped me get here,” Christopulos said. “It represents all their love, sacrifice and effort.”

We asked Nebraska head coach Chuck Chmelka…
Who will we graduate in 2026:
We graduate four outstanding seniors in 2026 who help mold our team to where it is today! Each of the four are great leaders and true ambassadors to our university, and will be deeply missed. Asher Cohen, Jack Critz, Luke James and Nathan York are the four seniors.
Class of 2026 – NLI Signings/ What each athlete will bring to the program:
We have signed four great seniors in high school who will help build our team to new heights in upcoming years! Each has nice strengths that we will lose to college graduation. All four could help the lineup immediately in those stronger events. The guys are:
Ty Herzing from State College, PA. Ty was USAG PB and HB National Champion. 2x U.S. Championships Qualifier, 2025 U.S. Championships 3rd place on PH, & PB. Ty will help our team immediately on PH, PB and HB.
Gage Kalley from Roswell, GA. Gage is a 2x U.S. Championships Qualifier, 2x ETC competitor and 2024 JE 17 High bar National Champion. Gage will help our team immediately on FX, PB, and HB.
Cole Miller from Palmer, Alaska. Cole is a USAG 9x state champion, 6x regional champion, 2x Future Star Jr. National Team qualifier and 3x ETC team qualifier. Cole is very powerful and will help us immediately on FX, Rings, and Vault.
Danny Sanjuanico from Plano, Ill. Danny is a 2025 U.S. Championships qualifier and will make an immediate impact on our PH and PB line-up.
We are in the process of recruiting one more S/A.
Top traits we look for beyond gymnastics skills:
We not only look for the top talent of gymnast but also hard-working, dedicated guys who want to improve and make their team better. Individual accolades are not reinforced, everything is the team! We look for good students and young men who are just good people!!!
What makes Nebraska stand out as a program:
I feel our program stands out because of the positive experiences the guys get everyday competing for Nebraska. All the benefits we have here are unmatched across the country. From gymnastics, to academics, to life skills, the guys are taught to be well rounded, positive, dedicated and hard-working young adults that contribute to our community as well as to our team and University.
