NCAA MEN’S GYMNASTICS: Recruiting Roundup!

Now that you’ve met many of the freshmen slated to compete during the 2025-26 Men’s NCAA Gymnastics season (see that series here on InsideGym.com), we’re excited to launch a look at the Class of 2026 – NLI Signings for each program!

In this new Inside Gymnastics series in partnership with the Men’s College Gymnastics Association (CGA), we asked each head coach about who’s graduating, who’s coming up, what they look for in their recruits, where each Class of 2026 NLI signee could potentially contribute to the lineup, and what makes their program unique. You’ll see what they had to say right here on InsideGym.com!

We’ll also add updates here and across our social media platforms as the season progresses, should anything change. Plus! Stay tuned right here for Men’s NCAA Coverage throughout the season, and be on the lookout for our upgraded Routine Of The Week segment and more @InsideGym once the season gets rolling.

Up next, Army! Army is coming off a season that saw the program capture the ECAC Championship for the first time in nine years, earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships, where the team Beat Navy to finish 10th – the highest team placement in program history. This year, the Black Knights aim to defend their ECAC title, celebrate a century of tradition, and climb even higher on the national stage.

The upcoming campaign marks a historic milestone – the 100-year anniversary of Army Gymnastics. The program will celebrate the centennial season on its home floor during the 2026 ECAC Championships on April 4th at Holleder Center.

We asked Army Head Coach JD Reive…

Who will we graduate in 2026:

This year, Army graduates include Carter Beck (PH/SR), John Wear (FX/PH/V), and Maddox Pabellon (PH/V).

Class of 2026 – NLI Signings

Regrettably, we are not permitted to disclose the names on our end.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT EACH ATHLETE AS FAR AS WHAT YOU BELIEVE EACH WILL BRING TO THE PROGRAM AND TO POTENTIAL LINEUPS:

We are delighted to welcome a distinguished group of gymnasts to West Point. Their exceptional abilities and potential will immediately enhance our team’s strength, particularly in areas where we have identified gaps. Furthermore, their talent, competitive spirit, and team-oriented mindset will significantly impact our trajectory in the upcoming seasons.

Top traits we look for beyond gymnastics skills:

By design, we adopt a comprehensive approach to recruiting, recognizing the substantial demands of matriculating at West Point. Notably, the sport aligns seamlessly with the institution’s emphasis on “attention to detail” in its teaching expectations. Beyond gymnastics proficiency, we identify recruits who embody the values that contribute to long-term success at West Point. Curiosity and coachability are paramount traits, both athletically and academically, as we seek athletes who are eager to learn, adaptable, and are enthusiastic about pushing their limits. We prioritize individuals who cultivate a team-oriented mindset, where their energy, attitude, and work ethic positively influence their teammates. Ultimately, we seek athletes who are passionate about the sport.
Character, leadership potential, emotional maturity, and the capacity to navigate adversity are all crucial factors in the selection process. The most successful recruits are those who aspire to develop both their athletic abilities and their potential to become leaders of character for our nation’s future.

What makes Army stand out as a program:

Army Gymnastics offers a distinctive combination of a fully funded top-tier education, world-class leadership development, and an elite-level gymnastics training program that guarantees a secure career path. Regardless of the service duration chosen, which can range from five years to a lifetime, the level of professional success is evident. Consequently, we have achieved an unparalleled level of alumni engagement that has empowered a $7.5 million Men’s Gymnastics endowment. In 2026, Army Gymnastics will commemorate its centennial anniversary, and its legacy remains strong.
NCAA gymnastics, particularly at West Point, serves as an exceptional character-building platform, as eloquently articulated by General Douglas MacArthur: “Upon the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that, upon other fields, on other days, will bear the fruits of victory.” GO ARMY!
