23 Oct Angelina Melnikova Wins Gold, Leanne Wong Silver In The Women’s All-Around Competition
Representing Athlètes Individuels Neutres (AIN), Angelina Melnikova returned to a World All-Around final for the first time since 2021 when she won gold today at the 2025 World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Melnikova, who is also the 2020 Olympic silver medalist in the All-Around, began her day with smooth routines on vault and bars, but took a fall on beam in the third rotation. It came down to her routine on floor, where she went out of bounds on her first pass, and, despite falling out of her wolf turn, still scored the highest execution score (7.966) of the competition on the event. Her 13.466 to cap off her competition was enough to capture her second World All-Around title.
It was Leanne Wong of Team USA, the 2021 World All-Around silver medalist behind Melinkova, who showcased a picture perfect day! She soared through her routines on bars, beam, and floor. Wong executed an incredible Cheng vault for a 14.466, propelling her into the lead late in the fourth rotation! Wong scored the highest vault score of the competition in what was overall a much stronger from Qualifications, to win the second world all-around silver medal of her career. With this medal, Wong adds a fifth world medal to her resume including team gold in 2022 and 2023, and floor bronze in 2021.
“It’s always a goal to bring back medals for Team USA. I’m happy with this silver medal,” Wong told the media following the competition.

Zhang Qingying of China captured bronze, surging to the lead in the third rotation with a huge 14.833 on her best event, beam, for the lead. She went 12.900 on floor to hold the third spot and her first all-around world medal.
Olympic Champion Kaylia Nemour of Algeria displayed a master class on uneven bars that earned her a massive 15.166. However, she saw balance beam struggles of her own and fell on her wolf turn at the end of her routine. Nemour also struggled on floor (12.866) which ultimately cost her a medal.
It was a tough day for Dulcy Caylor of Team USA who took falls on both bars and beam. She rebounded with a fantastic floor routine that had the entire arena cheering! Caylor will look ahead to competing in both the beam and floor final Saturday.
