THIS WEEK’S INSIDE BUZZ: FRIDAY 5!

Insiders, join us for our Inside Buzz: Friday 5 weekly highlights! Every Friday at 10 a.m. sharp we will highlight our top 5 gymnastics moments of the week! Let’s see who made the cut this week!

1. A Special Day. Last Saturday marked the Special Olympics Championships that took place in Inside’s hometown of Atlanta, GA! A special thanks goes out to all those who participated & helped make the event a huge success! Be sure to check out our awesome photos from the event by clicking here!
2. Spring Earns Honors. The University of Illinois head coach Justin Spring was named National Coach of the Year after leading the Fighting Illini men’s gymnastics team to their 10th national title this year. He also claimed the title of Big Ten Coach of the Year. We look forward to seeing the future success of this program under his direction. Congratulations, Justin!!
3. Men’s Qualifier Complete. Based on their performances at the 2012 U.S. Men’s Qualifier on May 5 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., 14 men qualified for the 2012 Visa Championships, which will be held in St. Louis. The Men's Qualifier was the last opportunity for the country's male gymnasts to qualify for this year’s Visa Championships, which will be held June 7-10.
4. American Classic Wrap-Up. Eleven U.S. women qualified to the 2012 Visa Championships based on their scores from the American Classic. This competition took place last weekend at the USA Gymnastics National Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site. In the senior division, Kennedy Baker of Texas Dreams won the All-Around. We look forward to seeing some big things from the U.S. women this year!
