THIS WEEK’S INSIDE BUZZ: FRIDAY 5!Insiders, join us for our Inside Buzz: Friday 5 weekly highlights! Every Friday at 10 a.m. sharp we will highlight our top 5 gymnastics moments of the week! Let’s see who made the cut this week!

1. Collegiate Corner. After a weekend of mistake-free battles and countless games of “anything you can do, I can do better,” this year’s collegiate championships have finally come to a close. The Univ. of Alabama made history last weekend by claiming a Back-to-Back title on the women’s side. The men from the Univ. of Illinois captured the title for the first time since 1989. On the NAIGC (National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs) side, Texas A&M men & MIT women captured National Championship titles for the second year in a row in Salt Lake City.

2. Field Set for Qualifier. On May 5 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado, 86 of the country’s top male gymnasts will compete in the last opportunity to qualify for the 2012 Visa Championships. The Men's Qualifier has two sessions, 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. MT. A minimum of 14 gymnasts using the Men's Program Committee 20-point system will advance to the Visa Championships, and additional athletes may be selected as needed to complete the 42-man Visa Championships field. Who do you predict to be the nation’s top male contenders this year?

3. American Classic Set. The American Classic, which serves as one of two women’s qualifiers in to the 2012 Visa Championships, will be held May 5 at the U.S. Gymnastics National Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site. Some of the nation’s top up-and-coming women gymnasts will have the opportunity to show the country what they’re capable of & make a push for a spot at the 2012 Visa Championships.

4. She’s Back!!! Yesterday, USA Gymnastics revealed a video you’ve all been waiting for! They posted a video of 2008 Olympic All-Around Champion Nastia Liukin’s updated beam training. By the looks of her fearless determination and elegant form, we know Nastia is going to be one to watch on this year’s road to London. Click here to watch the video! What do you think?
