Fit to Be Untied
By Evan Heiter

World pommel horse champ Krisztian Berki of Hungary solidified himself as the world #1 in London, crushing his difficult set with outstanding flair work and hip extension. His 16.066 caused quite a stir throughout the North Greenwich Arena, with the home crowd knowing their beloved Louis Smith had quite the task in trying to best Berki's score.

Smith magically matched Berki's 16.066 score, only to see the golden tie be broken by the execution score. His 9.066 was 0.100 less than Berki's 9.166. Smith and the entire arena were again left stunned after another shocking tie-breaker.  Coming off a historic team bronze in that competition, Louis Smith added silver to Team GB's gymnastics tally at the 2012 London Olympics, while teammate Max Whitlock added another bronze on pommel horse today.
