Field Set for 2012 Men's Visa Championships

Reigning National Champion Danell Leyva, as well as the rest of the 2011 World Championship team, highlights the field for the 2012 Visa Championships June 7-11 in St. Louis, MO. The members of the bronze medal winning 2011 World team include: Jake Dalton, Jonathan Horton, Steven Legandre, Alex Naddour, John Orozco, and alternate Chris Brooks.

Other notable competitors expected to compete include five of the six members of the bronze medal winning 2011 Pan American Games team: Donothan Bailey, CJ Maestas, Sho Nakamori, Paul Ruggeri, and Brandon Wynn—as well as 2008 National Champion David Sender.

Individual event winners from last year include Dalton on floor exercise and vault, Naddour on pommel horse, Wynn on still rings, and Leyva on parallel bars and high bar.

The 43 senior men competing at this year’s Visa championships are listed below via USA Gymnastics. They will compete June 7th and 9th for a chance to qualify to the Olympic Trials in San Jose, CA later in June. The junior men’s field should be announced soon as the complete field couldn’t be determined until after the conclusion of the 2012 P&G U.S. Men’s Junior Olympic National Championships May 10-13.
